In fall 2019, the Washington Alumni Chapter voted to create the Washington Alumni Chapter Scholarship Fund for the purpose of supporting the undergraduate chapters in the Eastern Province, representing the Greater Washington, DC region. These chapters include:

• American University
• George Washington University
• Georgetown University
• George Mason University
• Johns Hopkins University
• University of Maryland
• Towson University (colony)

The initial goal is to raise $25,000 to establish the Washington Alumni Chapter Fund, which would distribute $1,000 per year to a qualified applicant from the Eastern Province. "I think this endeavor is a noble one because we, as alumni, are in a position to help the next generation of values-based leaders. Through our time, talent, treasure, and generosity, we can help a brother in need of assistance work towards the completion of his degree. In doing so, we’ll be helping brothers who will become doctors, attorneys, business leaders, and public servants. We know from Sacred Scripture that, “to what much has been given, much will be expected”. As Sigma Chi’s we are blessed to be part of an incredible brotherhood. Help us give back to an organization that has given us so much.
